Noble Lineage from the 20th Century Onward
The Inghirami family is one of the oldest and most distinguished families in Volterra, with origins tracing back to Saxony. Their presence in Tuscany has been documented since the 10th century, when they arrived alongside Otto I the Great, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.
Lineage from the 20th Century to the Present
I) Michelangelo Inghirami
Michelangelo Inghirami, awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy, was born in Volterra in 1854. He married noblewoman Flora del Greco, daughter of the late Knight Giuseppe del Greco, a noble from Modigliana and a sub-prefect. Their union produced:
- Costanza Elena Inghirami (deceased), who married nobleman Giuseppe Sensi Contugi, a colonel and son of the late nobleman Paolo, on March 4, 1919.
- Maria Enrichetta Inghirami (deceased), who had two marriages: first, on December 27, 1920, with the late Professor Edgardo Gamerra; second, with the late Notary Giuseppe Garrone.
- Dianora Inghirami (deceased), who married Commander Guido dei Marchesi Incontri on December 5, 1917.
II) Pier Nello Inghirami
Pier Nello Inghirami (deceased) married Corinna Bicocchi in 1882, daughter of the late Giuseppe Bicocchi from Pomarance. The couple had the following children:
- Nella Inghirami, married Salvi.
- Albina Inghirami (deceased, born in 1885), married Barabino.
- Ada Inghirami (deceased).
- Giulio Inghirami (deceased), married and father of Nada Inghirami, also married.
- Ennio Inghirami (deceased).
- Gino Inghirami (born September 16, 1891 โ died November 16, 1976), who married Dina Campani on April 27, 1924. Dina was a noblewoman from Volterra, daughter of the late Luigi Campani and Maria Leonori Cecina. Their children included:
- Lodovico Inghirami (deceased), a professor, doctor, and Knight of Justice in the Order of Saint Stephen, born November 12, 1927, died March 20, 1995. He married Dr. Chiara Bertini, daughter of the late Professor Giovanni Bertini. Their children were:
- Iacopo Ennio Inghirami (deceased), doctor and member of the Maritime Academy of the Knights of Saint Stephen, as well as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Annuario della Nobiltร Italiana, born in Pisa on August 25, 1957. He married Francesca Domenichini on July 25, 1987, daughter of General Dr. Gualberto Domenichini. Their children were:
- Tommaso Inghirami, born September 25, 1989.
- Giovanni Inghirami, born July 15, 1991.
- Francesco Inghirami, born August 2, 2000, in San Giuliano Terme (Pisa).
- Francesca Inghirami, doctor, born November 25, 1959. Married to Dr. Marco Ferrari.
- Carolina Inghirami, doctor, born January 10, 1961.

- Bona Inghirami, doctor, born February 8, 1942. She married Professor and Lawyer Dr. Luca Iannucci.
- Piero Inghirami, architect, born August 1, 1944. He married Dianora Baglioni on December 6, 1969. They had:
- Donata Inghirami, born July 3, 1971.
- Lorenzo Inghirami, born December 27, 1973.
- Vanna Inghirami, born October 22, 1946.
- Eugenia Inghirami (deceased).
III) Isabella Inghirami
Isabella Inghirami (deceased) passed away in Rome on March 26, 1918. She married nobleman Ettore Falchi Picchinesi, a knight and doctor, son of Leopoldo Falchi Picchinesi, also a nobleman from Volterra.
